Biography

would like to introduce my band Bessonido which has really unique sound.All members are from different countries and everyone brings their own cultural elements to the music. Basically what we do - we try to mix different generes and make it work. It actually goes very well. Our band was born during the BTEC National Diploma in Music practice course through our music tutor and producer Ray Holroyd. We have released 3 singles through Non-profit label Grade 9 Records.

Grade 9 Records (under Basick Records umbrella) is a non-profit record label founded by music lecturer/journalist, Ray Holroyd. All label and artist proceeds are donated to Revolution Harmony affiliated charities, which provide free music lessons and instruments to children in the townships of South Africa. Each year Grade 9 Records signs young up-and-coming artists/bands to a two-year development deal culminating in a recording/release, and with former artists including Joe Copcutt of Rise To Remain [recently signed to EMI, following their Iron Maiden tour], the label’s mission statement of discovering ‘tomorrow’s stars today’ is clearly working. Bessonido, was born exactly this way!
Bessonido who boast members and influences from Columbia (Cumbia/Vallenato), Sri Lanka (Carnatic), Seychelles (Reggae), Congo (Soukous/Sebene), Latvia (Europop/Dance), and England (Jazz/Rock).
