The band is based in Glasgow, Although Kevin is originally from Motherwell and the Brothers Hamilton hail from Kirkintilloch.
The band was formed in early 2011.
Scarlet INside have existed as a band in many forms over a number of years and was by 2011 down to its founding member Kevin Kennie, who was playing and recording as a solo acoustic (plus synths and assorted instruments), needing/desiring a bit of percussion backing for an upcoming gig I (Kevin) asked Gaz if he would like to join me for this one off occasion. We were then approached by his brother Craig who also offered his services. Unknowingly the band was formed.
Scarlet INside record and play a broad mixture of sounds and styles playing an experimental style and a stage show mentality...often using bizarre instruments (such as kitchen pots and pans, Ugandan Harp, didgeridoo...etc...) as well as guitars, guitar synth, computers and drums.
We have recently recorded our first EP, called ‘The Fall’, containing five tracks all music and lyrics by Kevin Kennie but with full band involvement in the production, input and output of the tracks. The EP is available from band members or on line at i-tunes, Amazon mp3, and Play.com.
The tracks on this CD are a mixture of blues, rock, prog, jazz, dance, African rhythms, Indian melodies, computer beats and synth sounds, screaming guitar solo’s, industrial crunches, minimalist lines and unusual lyrics...just the way we like it.
Scarlet INside, although loving trial and experimentation in the studio and rehearsal room are a live band and perform regularly around the Glasgow and Edinburgh Scene and will be found drifting around the rest of the country soon promoting the new EP. No two gigs are ever the same, no song is ever played the same way twice and there are often new and old and trial songs played at our gigs.
